March 09, 2020, by Leslie Elmore
We have been dealing with an issue with the JC Penney Home Store in Greenwood for almost a year now. Last March/April we ordered and payed for a mattress. It was not a cheap mattress and they had to have it shipped, which took about 6 weeks. No big deal, we expected that. So in May we get a call on a Monday saying the mattress would be there on Tuesday. We disposed of the old mattress on Tuesday morning and prepared the room for the new mattress. Long story short, after literal hours of phone calls and being given the run around, plus sleeping on the floor, the mattress shows up Friday night. It has huge, very visible grease stains all over it and the frame that we were supposed to put it on was broken. We contacted them, they apologized and said they would sent a replacement and gave us a $100 gift card. It is now January. We have been calling at least once a month since MAY OF LAST YEAR and have been told multiple times “So and so from our corporate office will contact you,” and even threatened a couple of times that they would just show up and take our mattress. Today, in JANUARY OF THE FOLLOWING YEAR, we got an e mail basically saying that they have tried to contact us multiple times and we are refusing their offers to make it right. At this point, even an apology would be a welcome change because I am sick of getting the run around. I sincerely hope JC Penney’s goes bankrupt, as they are projected to do by the end of the year, and everyone involved in our debacle loses their jobs, because if you can’t provide better service than we have received, you do not deserve a paycheck.
